LAFLA is currently accepting applications for the position of Staff Accountant.

*Assigned location is subject to change during course of employment.

Requirements: 
Qualifications:

• Minimum 2-3 years accounting experience;
• Experience with full cycle payroll and taxes;
• Experience with ADP systems and reports;
• Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, v-lookup);
• Knowledge of fund accounting and experience with fund accounting software;
• Prior experience working with multiple sources of government funding preferred;
• College degree in accounting preferred;
• Strong initiative, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
• Nonprofit experience preferred; and
• Willingness to work beyond a minimum 7.0 hour workday, including evening and weekend meetings and events, and workweeks in excess of 35 hours when caseload or other obligations so necessitate.

Examples of Duties:

• Responsible for all phases of the payroll function and reconciliations;
• Support Accounts Payable function, including reviewing expense coding accuracy, expense allocation, and A/P related reports;
• Prepare monthly payroll analysis actual vs budget;
• Prepare and input all journal entries;
• Prepare payroll cost projections monthly;
• Prepare reports in support of time allocation monitoring;
• Prepare and/or review bank reconciliations for all accounts in timely and efficient manner;
• Prepare quarterly fixed asset reconciliation;
• Prepare and maintain prepaid expense schedules;
• Prepare general ledger account analysis as required; and
• Process group insurance premium payments.
