Grants Data Coordinator

Description: 

Legal Services of New Jersey, a non-profit organization that coordinates the statewide Legal Services network providing free civil legal assistance to people living in poverty, seeks a full-time Grants Data Coordinator to serve as the data collection and reporting specialist for a specific portfolio of LSNJ project grants. You will engage in qualitative analysis of grant data; oversee a portfolio of grants with responsibility of compliance reporting and grant monitoring including performance of contractual partners; assist with grant writing; coordinate grant audits; and support the Development Director and Executive Management team on grant and development-related and special project initiatives. 

Additional responsibilities include exploring new funding sources on local, state, and federal levels, coordinating with fiscal staff to ensure timely submission of financial reporting and monitoring of grant spending, and project staff to that ensure grant deliverables are met on a timely basis as well as running monthly grant reports and preparing accurate and timely monthly variance analyses as required and in consultation with Management and project attorneys.

Requirements: 

Strongest candidates will have a BA/BS degree and experience with grants in a nonprofit environment; strong data analysis, excellent writing and communication skills, project management skills, knowledge of program budgeting with an emphasis on grant compliance and outcome measurement; demonstrated computer literacy, with very strong word processing, accounting spreadsheet, Excel, database and internet research skills with the ability to learn multiple database systems used by government agencies and grant funders.  Candidate must be detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills; have experience working in a nonprofit institution of comparable complexity and scale; serve as part of a team to successfully manage multiple projects with competing timelines; and have  the ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines without sacrificing quality.
