Financial Management Webinar 3: Beyond Oversight

MIE and CompassPoint present: Key Concepts in Financial Management and Leadership for Legal Aid Organizations, in three webinars. Beyond Oversight: The Board’s Role in Sustainability is the third in the series, however, you may chose to attend just one or two in the series and not all three. We encourage you to attend all three for a special price. As a package, each webinar will build upon the last and will lay the groundwork for an interactive Sustainability Clinic that will be offered by CompassPoint at the MIE National Conference for Legal Services Administrators, January 15 and 16, 2013, in Jacksonville, FL, in conjunction with the LSC TIG Conference.

This webinar will focus on the role of the board of directors in contributing to the financial leadership of an organization. In this session we will distinguish between oversight and sustainability, and offer practical means of engaging your board of directors and the most pressing financial questions your organization is facing.

Presenter:
Jeanne Bell, MNA, is the CEO of CompassPoint Nonprofit Services. She is the co-author of Nonprofit Sustainability: Making Strategic Decisions for Financial Viability and Financial Leadership for Nonprofit Executives: Guiding Your Organization to Long Term Success. In addition to frequent speaking and consulting on nonprofit strategy and finance, Jeanne has conducted a series of research projects on nonprofit executive leadership, including “Daring to Lead 2006: A National Study of Nonprofit Executive Leadership” and “Securing the Safety Net: A Profile of Community Clinics and Health Center Leadership in California.” Jeanne is on the Editorial Advisory Board for the Nonprofit Quarterly.
