National Fundraising Conference 2012

The Importance and Power of Private Philanthropy

Join us in Boston for MIE’s Fundraising Conference, the one opportunity each year for those of us raising funds for legal aid to come together to improve our understanding, sharpen our skills and gain the inspiration we need to become more successful in today’s competitive private fundraising environment.

We have recruited some of the best fundraising consultants from the Boston area as plenary speakers and presenters for many break-out sessions. Seasoned legal aid fundraisers will provide direction for those of you newer to fundraising and/or new to legal aid. Plus, there will be plenty of time for networking, and we again will offer you the opportunity to spend 30 Minutes with a Mentor.

Seeking the Holy Grail of Fundraising... Donor Loyalty

You want more money…but what do donors want? You want new donors... but you should care more about keeping your current ones. Your boss and board want immediate return…but that’s not how this works. What does work? Donor-centrism. Extraordinary experiences. Relationship building. Come hear the stories, both good and bad. Listen to the meaning, then do it back home. The Holy Grail is easier to find than you think.

Simone P. Joyaux - Simone is one of the nonprofit sector's most thoughtful, inspirational, and provocative leaders. She is an expert in fund development, board development and governance, strategic planning, and management. Clients include all types and sizes of nonprofits, including foundations. Simone speaks internationally, developing seminars, keynotes and plenaries for conferences in such places as The Netherlands, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, France, and throughout North America. Simone authored Keep Your Donors: An Essential Guide to Better Communications and Stronger Relationships, with Tom Ahern, a leading expert in donor communications, and Strategic Fund Development: Building Profitable Relationships That Last.
