A Comprehensive Performance Management System: It’s So Much More Than An Annual Performance Evaluation

Managing performance and developing staff to achieve outstanding results is one of the key responsibilities -- and greatest challenges --of supervising and managing attorneys. Managing performance is much more than just conducting annual performance appraisals. It requires a systematic, integrated approach to achieve long-lasting individual and organizational growth and results. 

This webinar will review the key elements of a comprehensive performance management, including:

  • the creation and alignment of individual and organizational goals;
  • organizational competencies;
  • on - going coaching and support:
  • performance feedback skills; and,
  • professional development planning.

Beverly L. Weise, MBA, Founder and President of Leadership Talent Solutions, provides Executive Coaching, Management Training & Development, Team Offsites  and Performance & Talent Management Consulting to legal aid, professional services, and non-profit organizations. She designs customized solutions to develop and engage staff to achieve strong results.

Bev was the  Executive Director of Interlaw Ltd., an international association of full-service law firms in 120 cities worldwide,  and the Corporate Director of Executive Planning and Development at Northrop Grumman. At Interlaw, she organized and led conferences in over 25 countries. Bev received her M.B.A. in Organizational Management at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, and completed the UCLA Anderson Executive Program.  She is an ICF certified Executive Coach and was an adjunct faculty member at Antioch University’s Masters in Organizational Management Program. 

A partial list of clients includes:  Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County, Health Consumer Alliance (a consortium of eleven California legal aid organizations), Disability Rights California, Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, LA Care, and Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati.   She has been the keynote speaker and presenter at MIE national conferences for executive directors, managing attorneys and Bev is currently writing a book on applying neuroscience to performance management.

Gene King is the former director of the Ohio Poverty Law Center and a legal aid lawyer and manager for more than 30 years. He is now consulting on staff development and policy advocacy with legal aid programs and nonprofit advocacy groups.  Gene will be facilitating this webinar.
