Supervising Attorney, Veterans Legal Initiative
Key Areas of Responsibilities
· Deliver client-centered legal services to veterans in partnership with volunteer attorneys at a fast-paced non-profit legal organization.
· Recruit, train and mentor pro bono volunteers who are providing pro bono direct legal assistance to veterans.
· Conduct legal information and outreach to community partners and the community HVL serves to serve the veteran community.
· Partner with regional stakeholders and service providers to develop collaborative approaches to delivering client-centered, effective civil legal services to veterans.
Education and Experience
· Juris Doctor and State Bar licensure in Texas, in good standing (required).
· Accreditation under the US Dept of Veterans Affairs (preferred)
· Excellent time management & prioritization skills.
· Strong legal analysis skills & communication skills.
· Ability to motivate and inspire pro bono attorneys
Annual Salary and Benefits
The salary range begins and $75,000 and will be commensurate to experience and qualifications. General benefits include employee and dependent health, vision and dental insurance; a 401k defined contribution retirement plan with employer match; flexible work schedules, paid State of Texas bar dues and Houston Bar Association dues, professional development training, and growth opportunities.
Education and Experience
