Supervising Attorney (Reentry Project)
Legal Services of New Jersey, an Edison-based statewide non-profit that provides civil legal assistance to low income New Jerseyans, has an immediate opening for a supervising attorney for its Reentry Project (REP), providing representation, advocacy and outreach to individuals impacted by juvenile and criminal justice systems to help them remove legal barriers and fight discrimination.
The REP provides assistance in expungement and record clearing; employment, housing and other criminal-record related barriers; and civil rights. Staff also prepare publications, conduct outreach, speak at conferences and roundtables regarding civil legal issues of prisoners and people released from prison, train staff about reentry issues and analyze and comment on policies, regulations and legislation concerning corrections, reentry and juvenile justice.
The Supervising Attorney will be responsible for the overall management of the project including the oversight of project mission, grant development and management. The Supervising Attorney will supervise a staff attorney and paralegal in addition to maintaining a caseload and participating in the above responsibilities.

Strong candidates will have several years of experience in reentry or related substantive areas and in the supervision of other attorneys.
