Applications should be received by July 22, 2019, to be considered for the first round of interviews.   SALARY RANGE (Depending on Experience):  $73,010 - $93,182 per year   Location: Sacramento, Los Angeles, Oakland or San Diego   WHO WE ARE Disability Rights California (DRC) is a statewide, non-profit legal organization dedicated to advancing the rights of Californians with disabilities.  DRC works to achieve fairness and justice for people with disabilities through individual and impact litigation, state and federal policy and regulatory advocacy, and community education and training.   Civil Rights Practice Group We are a diverse, statewide team of passionate attorneys developing impactful cases to stop discrimination against people with disabilities. While we use a variety of advocacy tools, we are a litigation-focused group. We work together on our lawsuits to ensure that everyone has opportunities to both lead and support cases. And we are adopting community lawyering and identity-conscious approaches to reach Californians we have previously missed. Our current goals include: confronting the criminalization of people experiencing homelessness; protecting and increasing affordable, accessible housing; challenging discrimination in private and public programs; ensuring access to transportation and sidewalks; increasing access to courts; and addressing the intersectional needs of people with disabilities.   PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Staff Attorney 2 represents clients in legal matters that involve disability related issues. The Staff Attorney 2 has expertise in one or more substantive issue areas, handles complex legal matters, and provides leadership and mentoring to other Disability Rights California regional office advocacy staff.
Requirements: 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  Education and Experience
  Juris Doctor degree (JD) plus 4 or more years related experience, including litigating civil cases in state or federal court, such as eviction defense, law and motion, discovery, trial, and appellate work.
