Social Worker Case Manager
Legal Services of New Jersey, an Edison-based non-profit that provides free civil legal assistance to low income New Jerseyans is adding to its social work staff for LSNJ’s new Eviction Protection Project. We seek an experienced social worker-case manager who can be a housing advocate to work in conjunction with our social work and legal staff and provide services, to clients living in poverty who are at risk for or subject to eviction.

The case manager will collaborate with LSNJ staff members to address incoming referrals for housing related issues including but not limited to: housing insecurity, evictions, imminent homelessness, related entitlements issues, initiating community referrals, researching resources, advocacy, and collaboration with community agencies. The advocate will assist clients with a variety of needs, including assisting with applications for government benefits and other relevant supportive services. Case manager will work closely with the project’s supervising attorney, and social work supervisors and may also work with other team members on community outreach and education.
The candidate must have graduated with a bachelor’s degree preferably in social work or related field. Previous social work and case management experience, MSW and fluency in Spanish are highly desirable.
