Senior Researcher and Policy Analyst

LSNJ’s Poverty Research Institute (PRI) assembles data and other information to pinpoint the location, demographics, and other aspects of poverty, helping fashion more effective and efficient legal responses and solutions. PRI publishes reports and statistics gleaned from this data to enhance public awareness of poverty’s scope, causes, consequences, and remedies. PRI is New Jersey’s first and only entity exclusively focused on developing and updating information on poverty in the state.

As a Senior Researcher and Policy Analyst responsibilities will include conducting data analysis from sources such as the U.S. Census Bureau, developing research methodologies, writing in-depth policy reports, presenting research to diverse audiences, and supporting advocacy related to poverty.
A Master’s degree or equivalent in public policy/administration, statistics, sociology, or a related social science field is required. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral communications skills and proficiency with excel, and statistical software such as SPSS, STATA and commitment to advancing economic and social justice. R. Budgetary analysis experience will be a plus.
