For more information, please visit www.lafla.org.   The Pro Bono Manager Position coordinates all non-lawyer programs at LAFLA, including law student volunteer programs, LAFLA clinics, and LAFLA fellowships with the support of the Pro Bono Project Coordinator. The Pro Bono Manager also oversees the PBTI (probonotraining.org) training program with the support of the Pro Bono Training Coordinator. The Pro Bono Manager will be part of the pro bono team that collectively coordinates outreach, recruitment, and development of expanded volunteer projects and maintain improved internal volunteer tracking systems.
Requirements: 
QUALIFICATIONS: • Active membership in the California State Bar required; • Minimum of 5 to 8 years experience in legal services, including broad experience in project management, training, data collection, survey design, data assessment and maintenance; • Minimum 3 years of experience or knowledge of pro bono systems and volunteer program development; • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory setting supervising other staff members; • Demonstrated knowledge of poverty law (across substantive areas) and community legal needs; • Experience working within the law school recruitment systems; • Enthusiasm for working with volunteers and innovation and expansion of legal services for low-income Californians; • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills, including ability to maintain positive relations effectively with diverse populations at all levels; • Ability to think strategically, balance short and long-term objectives, and to lead collaboratively with others; • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and lead multiple projects; • Strong computer and technical problem-solving skills; • Skilled in identifying data-driven solutions with experience in data collection and analysis for project planning and reporting; • Willingness and ability to travel offsite and to work beyond a minimum 7.0 hour workday, including occasional evening and weekend meetings and event.   EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: • Work with the Pro Bono Director, pro bono staff and other managers at LAFLA to develop and maintain LAFLA’s volunteer programs; • Supervise the pro bono project coordinator and pro bono attorney training coordinator • Manage PBTI training project and advance pro bono training initiatives locally and statewide; • Manage LAFLA’s law student recruitment and LEIF programs; • Help implement internal systems related to pro bono recruitment, case tracking, evaluation and reporting; • Work with the Communications Department to develop media and/or social media strategies to advance pro bono projects and initiatives with law schools and other pro bono partners; • Build and maintain external relationships and engage in collaborative pro bono efforts with law schools, community organizations, and other pro bono stakeholders; • Participate in conferences and meetings virtually or in-person.
