Paralegal II (Federal Benefits Unit)
Legal Aid of Western Missouri is seeking a paralegal to assist in the area of federal benefits programs such as Social Security, SSI, and Medicare along with landlord-tenant and other general legal problems faced by low-income and elderly persons. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: interviewing new clients, primarily by telephone; documenting interviews; advising clients of legal rights and responsibilities by letter and phone; and assisting clients with administrative claims and appeals.

Salary: $17.71/hour plus, DOE.

Qualifications – Four year degree, paralegal certificate and/or previous legal or community experience, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a desire to assist in the delivery of high quality legal assistance to low-income people.
