Legal Services of New Jersey a non-profit public interest legal aid agency providing free legal help to the poor in civil matters, has an immediate opening for a housing attorney.
The Housing Attorney will join the housing advocacy team which combines client representation with housing policy advocacy. In this position you will provide tenant representation in landlord tenant court, and assistance in obtaining rental assistance. You will also be involved in community and client education and outreach activities, and system reform projects to identify and develop strategies to protect, preserve and expand the housing rights and opportunities for low-income people.

We will consider individuals with various level of relevant legal experience; those with expertise in housing law and policy, landlord tenant issues, eviction defense, fair housing and race equity, and litigation and/or policy advocacy, as well as recent graduates with a significant interest in housing law and other relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
- Experience working with diverse populations a plus.
- J.D. and license to practice law in New Jersey or an ability to gain admission.
- A commitment to advocacy on behalf of low income marginalized people including immigrant communities.
- Bi-lingual-Spanish a plus
