Legal Aid is seeking a full-time Grant Writer. This position works under the supervision of the Grants Manager and Director of Development. The Grants Writer maintains and expands funding for the organization by managing existing grants, applying for new grant opportunities, and building and/or maintaining relationships with the local philanthropic and legal communities. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: renewing applications for existing grants; completing progress reports for existing grants; maintaining the grants calendar; assisting the Director of Development and Grants Manager with research and applications for new grant funding; attending all required seminars, pre-bids, webinars, etc.; mailing requests for small donations on a quarterly basis; and assisting the Development Team with special events and activities.
Salary: $36,095 + DOE

A qualified candidate must have education in communications, English, professional writing, or a similar major; outstanding grammar and research skills; experience or background in legal aid services; excellent written and spoken communication skills; ability to understand the needs of both Legal Aid’s funding and the organization that is offering the grant money; great organization skills, and be able to understand and execute complex instructions.
