Job Title:       Director of Human Resources

 

Unit:               Administration

 

Reports to:     Chief Financial Officer and Director of Administration

 

FLSA:            Exempt

 

Job Summary

The Director of Human Resources is a key member of the LASROC team. This individual will serve as a strategic and trusted advisor to the LASROC’s Management Team and will be responsible for payroll, benefits, employee communication, recruitment, and compliance with State and Federal laws and organizational policy/procedures. Together with LASROC’s Management Team, this individual will be an advocate for the LASROC team members by creating a compassionate and accessible environment and foster a culture of collaboration, resiliency, hard work, and a passion for excellence. 

 

Responsibilities

·       Compensation & Benefits

o   Accurately and efficiently process all documentation for bi-monthly payroll

o   Maintain benefit plans, including health and dental, 401(k), & pension

o   Assist with the explanation and administration of all employee benefits, including open enrollment, benefits analysis, and compliance with organizational policies.

o   Coordinate and conduct exit interviews to better understand turnover

·       Recruitment & Retention

o   Manage and strengthen staff experience from interview through on-boarding to ensure alignment with LASROC’s culture, minimize regrettable turnover, and enhance LASROC’s brand

o   Continually assess the competitiveness of total rewards plans against industry peers and competitors

o   Works with & cooperates closely with the Director of Recruitment and Professional Development in all aspects of recruitment and retention.

o   Provide guidance on employee relation issues and advise leadership on necessary actions

o   Clearly articulate the LASROC Brand and serve as a primary ambassador

o   Advise management regarding proper disciplinary procedures.

·       Culture & Engagement

o   Facilitate orientation of new staff and embody a positive, helpful and enthusiastic attitude

o   Develop and implement a staff engagement survey. Analyze results and make strategic recommendations to Management Team.

o   Serve as a trusted and respected partner for all employees to understand challenges and needs

·       Policies & Compliance

o   Maintain thorough knowledge and ensure compliance with current state and federal employment laws and regulations

o   Clearly communicate personnel policies and procedures, and present at training when necessary

o   Proactively review and develop LASROC policies to align with organizational goals and make appropriate recommendations to LASROC Management Team

o   Prepare and maintain employment records, in compliance with state and federal regulations, including Workers Compensation programs, EEO, OSHA, FMLA, ADA, and FLSA

o   Oversee the management and maintenance of LASROC’s human resource information system, BambooHR

o   Draft and maintain accurate job descriptions and compensation packages

·       Other duties as assigned by CFO and Director of Administration.
