Director of Finance

Legal Aid of East Tennessee seeks a full-time Director of Finance available to work out of the firm’s Knoxville, Chattanooga, Johnson City, or Morristown office. The Director of Finance is responsible for the organization’s accounting and finance functions and systems, reporting directly to the Executive Director. Additional responsibilities include preparing detailed budgets, coordinating audits, internal auditing for grant compliance, delivering financial reports to Legal Aid’s Board of Directors, and other tasks assigned by the Executive Director.   A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting and a desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that often requires multi-tasking and flexibility while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Previous experience with non-profit financial management is a plus.   Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with certified public accountants especially desired. The ideal candidate will have experience with Abila MIP or other similar bookkeeping software, experience with financial accounting audits, superior analytical skills, experience with modeling cash flow projections and related financial forecasts, strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, and outstanding written and verbal communication.   A passion for the mission of Legal Aid and a healthy sense of humor are also desired.   Salary dependent upon experience.
