Director of Development
Legal Aid seeks a full-time Director of Development to spearhead the organization's fundraising efforts and activities.
The Director of Development is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of Legal Aid’s fundraising including grants, the major gifts program, community support, special events, and capital campaigns. This person supervises a staff of grant and marketing specialists. The Director will also oversee the grant requirements of receiving funding from Legal Services Corporation, an independent nonprofit established by Congress to provide financial support for civil legal aid to low-income Americans. The Director of Development reports to the Executive Director and also works closely with the Legal Aid Board of Trustees in all development and fundraising endeavors. This is a full-time position housed in our Central Office in Kansas City, Missouri.

Salary: Depending on experience.

The qualified candidate must have the following:
- A bachelors or masters degree.
- Previous supervisory and fundraising experience.
- Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- A good sense of humor and a passion to help vulnerable communities.
