What will you do? Maintain, optimize, and analyze data from our case management system, LegalServer, amongst other duties.

How do you work?  This is a hybrid role based out of St. Louis, MO.

What’s my salary? $60,000 - $68,000 plus a bunch of other benefits.

The Data Specialist is principally responsible for maintaining and optimizing Legal Services’ CMS, monitoring the integrity of the data, and assisting with data extraction, presentation and data analysis. The Data Specialist is additionally responsible for helping new users onboard at Legal Services, training end users at Legal Services, and assisting with other applications as needed.

GENERAL JOB DUTIES:  
  • Manage, and assist with the evaluation and analysis of internal data, supplemented with external data as practicable, for use in planning, program development and assessment, resource development, grant reporting, and other activities. 
  • Provide day-to-day administration of LegalServer.
  • Maintain and update LegalServer configuration for purposes of grant and programmatic requirements and implement and educate staff on changes to the system, as needed. 
  • Review regularly released, and currently unused, LegalServer enhancements, modules and features, to determine utility for LSEM, in consultation with appropriate internal users, and evaluate impact on users.  
  • Assist management with development of policies and/or protocols for case management system use.
  • Provide technical support, configuration, training and assistance to internal LegalServer users. 
  • Communicate with LegalServer developer, PSTI, to solve problems, prioritize issue management, and facilitate and support national LegalServer development and enhancement efforts.
  • Perform regular reviews of internal data integrity for internal and regulatory compliance with funding requirements.  
  • Develop, prepare and submit grant reports in coordination with Development staff and others. 
  • Engage with the national LegalServer stakeholder community. 

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:  
  • Manage, and assist with new user onboarding.
  • Supporting other legal applications.
  • IT training.
  • Process automation.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; four-year degree preferred*. 
  • Experience with case management system or similar database*. 
  • Ability to work independently in a diverse workplace and within a dynamic environment.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically mastery of Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience in positions which demonstrated the ability to prioritize work, able to multi-task and handle multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and presentation.
  • Excellent analytical and evaluative skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and the ability to work effectively in high pressure environment in a mission-driven organization.
  • Ability to plan and execute training for users in all positions.
  • Experience in Microsoft 365 Admin Center preferred, but not required.
  • Experience using Case Management Systems in a legal aid or law firm environment preferred. 
  • Prior experience working with a legal services/aid organization, non-profit or government setting helpful.  
*Combination of equivalent education, certifications and experience may substitute for each requirement 

Salary & Benefits Information:
The salary range for this position is $60,000-68,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate will be based on their years of experience and education. Excellent benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, a generous time off policy (starting at 4 weeks per year), 12 weeks paid parental leave, 403(b) and 401(a) retirement plans, long-term disability and life insurance, employee assistance plan, and flexible spending accounts. 

Hours of work:  
8:30 – 5:00, Monday through Friday
