Individuals who are Deaf or Disabled are encouraged to apply.   SALARY RANGE: $54,054 – $72,482 annually  LOCATIONS: Sacramento or Remote (California Only) Employment Status: Regular, Full Time, Exempt   WHO WE ARE Disability Rights California (DRC) is a statewide, non-profit legal organization dedicated to advancing the rights of Californians with disabilities.  DRC works to achieve fairness and justice for people with disabilities through individual and impact litigation, state and federal policy and regulatory advocacy, and community education and training.   PURPOSE OF THE JOB Working closely with the Communications Director, the Content Marketing Manager will develop, build, and execute a digital content strategy including campaign strategies to support communication’s goals for social media and the website to establish and increase DRC’s visibility, brand awareness, and education on various complex topics. This position is responsible for the strategic growth and development of DRC’s social media program and web content.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS DRC provides reasonable disability accommodations to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Content Marketing Manager essential functions include:   -        Develop, facilitate and create digital initiatives and strategies, including identifying the story angle, researching the story, production, writing, editing, and posting phases of web and social media content. Producing content for various formats including: blog posts, social media posts, articles, infographics, video, photo, audio, etc. [MP1]  -        Work closely with the Communications team for developing ideas for videos. -        Develop, create and write fresh story ideas and compelling content for the website and social media to educate the public on a variety of complex issues. Simplifying complex messaging and tailoring the content based on the platform (blogs, videos, social media, articles, press releases). -        Develop marketing and campaign strategies and manage a content calendar to gain new viewers, create engagement, and visibility for DRC through the website and social media. -        Work with different departments, employee resource groups, and board members to generate new ideas and strategies for content for both the website and social media. -        Oversee and develop multiple campaigns at once while project managing the entire creative process including story development, research, writing, editing, creative design for various platforms (working with Web and Graphic Designer for web stories), timelines, and following-up with cross-functional partners. -        Develop targeted/strategic marketing initatives to advertise DRC, our articles, speaking events, webinars, publications, press releases, etc. to specific audiences, while also managing our paid advertising budget for social media. -        Develop social media campaigns and messaging strategies for DRC’s public policy efforts. To educate the public on bills, how to support, thanking authors, updates on the bills, creating toolkits, and working closely with the legislative team and other coalitions while creating simplified messaging to explain complex issues. -        Write and develop compelling content for e-blasts, webinars, flyers, client stories, advocacy updates, press releases, policy work, board/staff spotlights, bios, etc., while coordinating with other team members as needed to collect information.  -        Establish metric goals for social campaigns, benchmarks, content reach, and track analytics and create summary reports for social media posts and campaigns, reporting results and adjusting the strategy to optimize results. -        Develop and execute strategies to improve copywriting and SEO results for the website. Analyzing web traffic metrics for blog posts and social media viewers/engagement while optimizing all content marketing initiatives to improve SEO metrics and target marketing. -        Serve as a subject matter expert on social media best practices and stay current on what is trending on various issues statewide/nationwide, across the disability community, our various issues, and other organizations while applying those trends to various campaigns for the website and social media. -        Research and recommend new social media marketing tactics as appropriate. Monitor all platform innovations, best practices, and industry standards. -        Maintain up-to-date contact lists for press contacts, distribute press releases, and monitor media engagement.    -        Cultivate and steward ongoing interactions with followers. Provide an outstanding experience by being accessible and responding to queries timely.   Other Duties -        Act as liaison to other units within the agency, upon request. -        Schedule meetings and conference calls for Communications Unit staff. -        Participate in off-site outreach to minority and underserved communities. -        Provide assistance to staff with disabilities, as needed. -        Perform other duties as assigned.   WORKING CONDITIONS The following describes general working conditions and requirements of the job, which can be performed with or without disability-related reasonable accommodations.[CW4] [MP5] Work areas are often noisy. Duties frequently require sitting, talking, and/or hearing and occasional periods of standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Requirements: 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience -        Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, and/or Marketing. -        Possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below, typically gained through 5-8 years of progressively responsible experience in Marketing and Social Media. -        Excellent writing, editing, marketing, and communication skills. -        Ability to learn and understand complex issues quickly, while contributing fully to a fast-paced, dynamic team. -        Proficient in Microsoft Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.   -        Strong background in Adobe Creative Cloud, Meltwater, Hootsuite, Buffer, Google Analytics, CANVA and WordPress. -        Strength in storytelling and creative activation across the website and social media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc. -        Resourceful, creative, and organized, with a strong ability to prioritize. -        Organized with high attention to detail[CW3] .   PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -        Experience in communications outreach in public interest, and/or nonprofit sectors with a particular emphasis in content development, public relations, digital and social media. -        Knowledge of web/video/audio production is highly preferred. -        Experience in the disability rights movement and/or extensive contacts in the disability community.
