Communications and Development Coordinator

Alaska Legal Services Corporation (ALSC) has an opening in Anchorage for a full-time (35 hrs per week) Communications and Development Coordinator. ALSC is a private non-profit law firm providing free civil legal assistance to low-income Alaskans through 12 offices throughout the state. The Communications and Development Coordinator plays an important role in furthering our mission and engaging with donors, stakeholders, and our community.

Duties and responsibilities include: working with the ALSC leadership team to plan and execute fund development, fundraising events, and marketing materials; conducting research to identify prospective foundation and corporate funders; preparing and writing a variety of content including grants, fundraising proposals, newsletters, reports, website copy, brochures and press releases; designing outreach materials and creating visually compelling presentations; meeting with ALSC’s outreach team to coordinate statewide and project specific efforts; analyzing data from ALSC’s Case Management System and identifying ways to promote and visually translate this information to various audiences; maintaining ALSC’s statewide website; managing and developing engaging content for social media channels;  tracking analytics; and, other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing or commensurate experience required. Familiarity with cross-cultural situations, strong writing/editing skills, a high level of creativity and the ability to think analytically preferred. Demonstrated experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office, GSuite, various social media channels, Google Analytics and AdWords, Constant Contact, donor databases, and WordPress. Experience in graphic design highly valued.
