The Metropolitan office of Maryland Legal Aid, located in Landover, Maryland, announces a full-time administrative assistant position for qualified applicants. Description: Perform secretarial, clerical and administrative functions in a law office. Duties include but are not limited to greeting clients and visitors, answering multi phone lines, taking messages, data entry, maintenance of files, processing incoming and outgoing mail, use of multifunction copier/scanner/print/tax machines, typing of legal documents and general correspondence using windows based word processing software, perform general office duties assigned by office manager, other duties as assigned. .
Qualifications: Must be reliable, self-starting, and pleasant individual with excellent communication and telephone skills. Typing 50 wpm. Must be able to produce grammatically correct documents in proper format. Ability to type from transcription/dictation equipment as well as hard copy documents. Legal experience preferred but not required. Spanish language proficiency a plus.
