Supervising Legal Work Training
MIE Supervising Legal Work Training
February 13 - 15, 2024
Albuquerque, NM
As new supervisors transition from peer to manager, different skills are needed to leverage their team's potential. The Supervising Legal Work Training is designed to help managers with fewer than 3 years of supervisory experience develop those skills through a combination of substantive presentations and facilitated small group discussion.
Topics essential to the success of a new manager will be covered, including employment law basics, individual and team dynamics, feedback and evaluation, time management, workplans, and more! These themes will be discussed alongside real-world challenges attendees are currently facing, with colleagues experiencing similar obstacles and expert trainers from legal aid organizations.
TOPICS TO BE COVERED
- Employment Law Basics
- Managing Effective Teams
- Inter-Personal Communications
- Core Duties of Every Supervisor
- Tools to Manage Work, Projects, and Grants
- Effective Case Management System Usage
