MIE Announces Retirement of Executive Director
It is with mixed emotions that I announce the retirement of Patti Pap, MIE’s extraordinary Executive Director since 1997. Patti will be retiring this coming spring, and so we embark on our search for a new MIE director to build on her legacy.
Under Patti’s leadership MIE has grown into a critical force promoting excellence in management in the legal aid community. She has brought vision, intelligence, hard work, compassion and an amazing ability to inspire our community to new heights. During her tenure legal aid management across the country has become more thoughtful, professional and intentional. By providing training, technical expertise, and a Journal dedicated to the unique issues the community faces, and supporting connections and collaborations nationally, MIE under Patti has improved our ability to serve our client communities and made the difficult task of legal aid management more possible.
Difficult as it is to imagine MIE without Patti, we on the MIE Board are deeply grateful and happy for her as she takes on new opportunities and we look forward to celebrating her many accomplishments and congratulate her on her retirement. We will keep you posted on plans for that celebration in the spring.
In the meantime, we have begun an executive search to find the next leader to move MIE and its mission of excellence in legal aid management forward. We know there is a wealth of talent in our legal aid community and look forward to finding the new leader who will continue MIE’s valuable work.
Best regards to all,
