Skadden/ Equal Justice Works Fellow
Skadden/ Equal Justice Works Fellow
Each year, the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles provides legal assistance, legal education, and community education to more than 75,000 low-income. LAFLA provides legal services in the practice areas of litigation, direct client services, policy advocacy, and community outreach. Our priority substantive areas are organized into workgroups: Supporting Families (family law and immigration law), Housing and Communities (housing law, consumer law, and community economic development), and Economic Stability (government benefits, employment law, and consumer law). A special focus is placed on serving populations with special vulnerabilities (Asian Pacific Islanders, Veterans, Children) and language access issues. Each fellowship project will be jointly designed by LAFLA and applicant based on LAFLA’s clients’ needs and applicant’s areas of interest and expertise.
LAFLA counts many Skadden and Equal Justice Works alumni among our staff. For more information about LAFLA and the Fellowships: www.skaddenfellowships.org, www.equaljusticeworks.org, http://www.lafla.org/fellowship.php
