Senior Grants Officer(Oakland)

Bay Area Legal Aid's (BayLegal) mission is to provide high quality legal assistance regardless of a client's location, language, or disability. BayLegal is the largest provider of free civil legal services to low-income residents of the San Francisco Bay Area, with regional offices in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties. BayLegal's 100+ staff members provide wraparound legal services in housing preservation, domestic violence and sexual assault
prevention, economic security, consumer protection, and healthcare access.

Requirements: 

Position and Responsibilities:

BayLegal's Senior Grants Officer, in consultation with BayLegal's
Development Team, will:
• Ensure programmatic compliance with all sources of grants and contracts, including complex
cost reimbursable grants
• Maintain a portfolio of grants, including: researching funding prospects, working with staff and
collaborative partners to develop projects, preparing and submitting applications for new and
renewal funding, coordinating with the Accounting Department to develop budgets, ensuring
timely submission of invoices and monitor spending, processing contracts, coordinating and
attending site visits with funders, preparing required reports, meeting any additional funder
requirements
• Establish, maintain and build good relationships with funder contacts
• Maintain grants and contracts tracking system, records, files, and databases (Salesforce)
• Assist the Development Director and Executive Director with various projects as needed
Qualifications: The Senior Grants Officer shall:
• Be passionate about BayLegal's mission and possess an ability to understand and enthusiastically
articulate the goals and vision of a multi-disciplined poverty law firm
• Possess a strong personal work ethic and ability to organize time, solve problems, manage diverse
activities and meet critical deadlines with minimal supervision
• Demonstrate the ability to be entrusted with sensitive information and conduct daily activities
with the utmost professionalism and integrity
• Exhibit excellent speaking and writing skills
• Be a creative problem solver with experience using a wide range of resources to accomplish
complicated tasks and goals
• Possess the ability to remain calm under pressure and to work well as a dedicated member of a
dynamic team
 

Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation is based on a competitive public interest salary
scale.Generous benefits package includes medical, dental, life insurance; long term disability; law school loan
