Job Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Development, and working with the Executive Director and Director of Administration, the Grantwriting & Communications Coordinator is responsible for written communications to support the development and maintenance of funding for VLAS.    

Duties:

A.  Grant Research and Writing:

  1. Research, prepare statistic,  logic models, outcome reports, write, produce and coordinate the submission of grant applications;
  1. Assist the Director of Administration in the preparation of budgets for grant applications;
  1. Prepare PowerPoint presentations and reports as requested by funders and donors;
  1. Collect, research, write and/or edit client case stories; collect photos if appropriate;
  1. Prepare local government grant requests;
  1. Research and report on potential sources of funding.

B.   Grant Reporting:

  1. Research, prepare statistics and outcome reports, write, produce and coordinate the submission of grant reports;
  1. Assist the Director of Administration in the preparation of financial status for grant reports;
  1. Create and produce reports from the fundraising database as needed for funders and staff;

C.   Communications and Marketing

  1. Create print and electronic media;
    • Research, write, edit and oversee production and distribution of e-newsletters, print newsletters; annual reports; brochures; flyers, etc.
    • Coordinate social media activities
    • Develop and maintain website with Director of Administration
    • Coordinate requests for print and electronic media
  1. Write and distribute press releases;
  1. Maintain electronic file of press coverage and prepare quarterly report for board;

D.  Administration:

  1. Maintain an office calendar of grant submission and reporting deadlines, and remind other administrative staff of upcoming deadlines;
  1. With the Director of Administration, create systems for collecting and reporting outcome measurements and statistics for funders;
  1. Perform other such tasks as requested by the Director of Development and Executive Director.
