Executive Director
Maine Equal Justice Partners seeks a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as Executive Director of its organization. Maine Equal Justice Partners (MEJP) is a small nonprofit organization, located in Augusta, which represents the interests of low-income people in the state legislature, the courts, and before administrative agencies.
As the leader of MEJP, the Executive Director directs the organization’s activities in legislative affairs, litigation, administrative advocacy, client support services, fundraising, and outreach and training. Applicants must demonstrate a deep commitment to justice for individuals with low income, knowledge of various areas of poverty law, as well as an understanding of public policy issues and processes. The successful candidate will be a proven leader who has administrative and management experience and can be an effective advocate for Maine Equal Justice and for the people it serves.
Applicants must be attorneys who are current members of the Maine bar or eligible for admission. Prior experience in legal services is preferred.
