Executive Assistant to the CEO

The National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA), founded in 1911, America’s oldest and largest nonprofit association devoted to excellence in the delivery of legal services to those who cannot afford counsel, seeks an Executive Assistant to the CEO. This role will support the administrative needs of the President & CEO and the Executive Office. This position will be responsible for the coordination and preparation for Board meetings, managing the calendar for the Executive Office and ensuring that the Executive Office is running smoothly. The Executive Assistant to the CEO will be responsible for coordinating and managing the schedules of the Executive Office and monitoring the President & CEO’s calendars. Additional responsibilities include developing and monitoring budgets for the Executive Office and Board of Directors, coordinating the arrangements for Board meetings, compiling minutes, monitoring parliamentary procedures, serving as a staff liaison to officials at meetings, traveling to meetings, and providing on-site support to the President & CEO, the Board of Directors and ad hoc committees. Qualified candidates must have at least five years of related experience supporting an Executive Director and/or President & CEO. Experience working with a Board of Directors and committees is required. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to handle multiple projects efficiently, strong problem solving skills and computer literacy, including database proficiency and knowledge of MS Office Suite, are required for this role. A Bachelors degree is preferred.
