Director of Information and Technology

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES     

 

  • Develop, recommend and implement short and long-range technology plans.
  • Develop, recommend and implement policy for the use of technology in the delivery of legal services.
  • Develop, recommend and implement standards for equipment and software acquisition, installation and use.
  • Chair LAFLA’s Technology Committee.
  • Develop and administer program wide computer training.
  • Develop, recommend and administer budget for technology.
  • Negotiate and administer contracts for equipment, software, training and other technology related matters.
  • Supervises the Technical Services Coordinator.
  • Hire and manage technology consultants.
  • Communicate the technology vision of LAFLA to staff and others.
  • Collaborate with other providers of legal services for provision of quality legal services.
  • Keep up-to-date on the trends and advances in the utilization of technology in the provision of legal services.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as required.
Requirements: 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Advanced degree in Business Administration or Computer Science, JD a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in supervising information and technology systems.
  • Analytical Skills -Ability to work in partnership with the legal team and the administrative team to find creative technical solutions to problems, as well as for the overall advancement of the program and the delivery of  services.
  • Decision Making -Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures.
  • Negotiation Skills -Ability to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all interested parties.
  • Presentation Skills -Ability to effectively present information to deverse audiences.  
  • Project Management -Ability to organize and direct a project to completion.
  • Systems Analysis -Ability to determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions,      operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
  • Technical Aptitude -Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information.
  • Working Under Pressure -Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
