Director of Development

Description: 

Director of Development, a program wide position, located in the East St. Louis Administrative Office.

Responsibilities: Leads fund development program that includes annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, foundation and corporate support, grants and special events.  Prepare or supervise preparation of funding applications and reports, and ensure timely completion.  Assist with the preparation of Legal Services Corporation and Lawyers Trust Fund applications and reports.  Support regional office efforts to establish and maintain relationships with area United Ways.  Work with regional offices to identify areas of client and community need, research potential funding sources, and develop new grant proposals.  Maintain or supervise maintenance of fundraising database.  Develop an annual development plan consistent with agency’s strategic plan.  Supervise communications to support fundraising and public relations activities; including web site, social media and printed publications.

Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization providing free legal services to low-income persons and senior citizens in civil cases through five regional offices in central and southern Illinois.  The program has a long history of high quality and innovative advocacy for our clients.

Salary: Depending on experience.  Excellent fringe benefits.

Requirements: 

Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. Excellent writing and organizational skills.  Bachelor’s degree required.  At least three years of fundraising experience required, CFRE preferred.  Computer proficiency required.  Demonstrated concern for and sensitivity to low income persons.
