Director of Advocacy for Income Security
The Director of Advocacy for Income Security will have a passionate desire to advance the mission and Human Rights framework of Maryland Legal Aid. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of legal experience related to public benefits and/or worker’s rights. Prior supervisory experience in a legal services or similar program is highly desirable. Appellate and/or complex litigation experience is preferred. Excellent mentoring, oral and written communication and administrative skills are required as is a mastery of basic computer skills and technology. Certification in veterans benefits is desirable. Must be admitted to practice in the State of Maryland, or admitted in another jurisdiction,a graduate of an ABA-approved law school, and eligible for admission in Maryland, or willing and able to take first available bar examination.
