Crime Victims' Services Coordinator "Paralegal"
Southern Arizona Legal Aid, Inc. (SALA) is a not-for-profit law firm. SALA serves 9 counties in Arizona and 11 Indian Reservations. SALA is seeking a full-time Crime Victims' Services Coordinator “Paralegal”. The Crime Victims’ Services Coordinator is responsible for providing information, resources and advocacy to victims of sexual and domestic violence who are crime victims. The CVS Coordinator will provide outreach in SALA’s service area including Santa Cruz, Graham, and Greenlee Counties. The CVS Coordinator will also provide outreach to shelters within SALA’s service area in order to provide information on SALA’s services to victims and distribute written material to all other service providers in the service area. Additionally, the CVS Coordinator will work closely with a Crime Victims’ Services Attorney and other project and program staff within SALA. The CVS Coordinator will provide legal advocacy to project clients including crisis intervention and emotional support, explanation of their crime victims' rights and the criminal justice process and guidance to project clients as their case moves through the criminal and civil justice system.
• Bachelors degree in criminal justice, women's studies, social work or a related field or equivalent experience; • Knowledge of sexual and domestic violence and a commitment to ending violence against women; • Ability to work in high pressure, limited resource work environment; • Excellent written, oral communication and listening skills; • Ability to maintain confidentiality; • Computer literacy; • Demonstrated ability to manage time, evaluates progress, and adjusts activities to complete assignments within established time frames. • Bilingual in English/Spanish helpful.
