Chief Financial Officer

Description: 
  • B.S. in accounting; CPA license strongly preferred;
  • Minimum tenr years in similar positions with increasing accounting responsibilitiespreferably in a public interest  non-profit, multifunded organization;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to organize, direct and coordinate efforts for the organizations’ finance department, as well as prepare and analyze financial reports;
  • PC proficiency and proficiency with Excel, Abila or other accounting software are essential (Microsoft Office environment), strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and Outlook is preferred.
  • Organization and ability to work cooperatively with all  staff.
  • Knowledge of Capital Campaign accounting and reporting;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff.
  • Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
     
Requirements: 
  • Participate in the development of the annual budget;
  • Prepare final budget and budget narrative  for approval by the Board of Directors;
  • Prepare monthly financial statements in a timely manner and assure that data is accurate for funding source, department, and budget comparison;
  • Monitor cash flow of program to assure adequate cash on hand and in appropriate disbursement accounts;
  • Supervise bi-annual asset inventory and maintenance of asset records;
  • Prepare reports for the Board of Directors and Board Finance Committee;
  • Prepare and implement cost allocation system for financial reporting;
  • Review account reconciliation and analyses for Balance Sheet accounts on a regular basis; and
  • .Provide leadership in the development and the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
  • Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Agency.Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
