Chief Financial Officer
Vermont Legal Aid seeks a full-time CFO to work in its Burlington office. The CFO is responsible for the overall financial operations of a large non-profit law firm with over 70 employees and an annual budget of $7 million. Must be able to analyze and clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, projections, and critical financial matters. Duties include: responsibility for grant and contract reporting and grant application budgets; organizational cash flow and forecasting; annual budgeting and planning in conjunction with the Executive Director; and, leading the annual audit and Form 990 preparation and filing, as well as supervision of accounting office staff.
Qualifications: Minimum of four-year degree in accounting or related field; advanced accounting degree (MPA/CPA) preferred; minimum of eight years experience in accounting and/or financial management, preferably in a non-profit setting; demonstrated proficiency with Excel and MIP or equivalent fund accounting software program. Comprehensive medical benefits, 4 weeks paid vacation per year. Salary commensurate with experience.
